Aguilas forces decisive Game 9 in DWL Finals

It all comes down to tonight in the Dominican Winter League, as the best-of-nine finals are all tied up at four games a piece.

Last night, Aguilas forced the decisive game with a 7-3 victory over Licey. They scored four runs in the top of the first and never looked back.

With the bases loaded and two outs in the first, former KC Royal Orlando Calixte cleared the bases with a double. Free agent Angel Franco followed with an RBI single. Franco went 2-for-4, as he started at second base.

Aguilas closer Josh Judy (Mexico) continued his dominance in the DWL by inducing three ground outs after a leadoff walk in the ninth. He has yet to allow an earned run in the DWL.

Game 9 will be played tonight at Aguilas, as the two teams fight for the DWL title and a spot in the Caribbean Series.

About Jen Nevius

I first became a KC Royals fan way back in 1995 when I attended my first Wilmington Blue Rocks game. I fell in love with minor league baseball then and began following the Royals as former Blue Rocks clawed their way to the big leagues. 3+ years ago I started covering the Royals for Aerys Sports, but since the site has been shut down, I am going out on my own.
