Winter League Week 14 ABL Recap

With Australia hosting a World Baseball Classic qualifier in a month, the Australian Baseball League‘s season is winding down.

Over the weekend, the Aces split their four-game series at Adelaide.

Logan Moon split between center and right field, while batting leadoff for the Aces (though he did bat third on Sunday). He went 2-for-20 with a run scored. He did strike out three times and committed his third and fourth errors (in right field). Moon stole his tenth base on Friday.

It was a good week for Mike Hill, who had been struggling at the plate as of late. He went 5-for-13 with two doubles, three runs scored, and two RBIs.

Hill caught the last two games of the weekend for the Aces, though he had his sixth passed ball on Saturday. He was the DH on Thursday and pinch-hit in the 8th inning on Friday (and went in to play first base).

The Aces host Brisbane this weekend (beginning Thursday) for their final home series. The Aces finish their ABL season the following weekend in Sydney (January 21-24).

About Jen Nevius

I first became a KC Royals fan way back in 1995 when I attended my first Wilmington Blue Rocks game. I fell in love with minor league baseball then and began following the Royals as former Blue Rocks clawed their way to the big leagues. 3+ years ago I started covering the Royals for Aerys Sports, but since the site has been shut down, I am going out on my own.
