Video of Blue Rocks starter Jake Junis’ first inning

I wanted to video the entire first inning of Wilmington Blue Rocks starter Jake Junis today. However, my phone began to overheat, so I only got the first five batters (he faced six).

Junis earned his first victory since July 17th, as he allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks over five innings.

Below are the videos.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans Chesny Young (the Carolina League batting champ) started the game:

Next up was Pelicans centerfielder Pin-Chieh Chen:

Pelicans right fielder Mark Zagunis followed and drove in the game’s first run:

Junis rebounded to get Pelicans third baseman Ben Carhart for the second out:

Then it was DH Victor Caratini’s turn:

Junis struck out Jacob Rogers to end the first.

About Jen Nevius

I first became a KC Royals fan way back in 1995 when I attended my first Wilmington Blue Rocks game. I fell in love with minor league baseball then and began following the Royals as former Blue Rocks clawed their way to the big leagues. 3+ years ago I started covering the Royals for Aerys Sports, but since the site has been shut down, I am going out on my own.
