Videos from Blue Rocks-Nationals Game 2

Below are some videos I recorded of Game 2 last night between Wilmington and Potomac. Matt Strahm got the spot start and was dominant (5IP, 2H, R, BB, 9K).

Strahm got the game started against P-Nats centerfielder Narciso Mesa with a strikeout:

Strahm allowed his first hit to P-Nats catcher Spencer Kieboom to lead off the second:

Alfredo Escalera, who played in the South Atlantic League All-Star Game on Tuesday as a representative of Lexington, made his first start for the Blue Rocks (in left field and batting fifth). Check out his first at-bat (which came in the second against Washington prospect Reynaldo Lopez):

After Strahm’s night was done, in came reliever Andrew Edwards. He broke the bat of Mesa in the sixth:

Finally, watch Edwards face P-Nats shortstop Stephen Perez in the sixth:

About Jen Nevius

I first became a KC Royals fan way back in 1995 when I attended my first Wilmington Blue Rocks game. I fell in love with minor league baseball then and began following the Royals as former Blue Rocks clawed their way to the big leagues. 3+ years ago I started covering the Royals for Aerys Sports, but since the site has been shut down, I am going out on my own.
