More rain presented problems in Chicago, as the KC Royals and White Sox game was postponed. The makeup date for this afternoon’s game will be announced at a later date.
On Sunday, the Royals and White Sox will finish their suspended game from Friday night, with the score tied at 2-2 headed into the ninth. They then will play the nine inning scheduled game.
Now to the suspensions…
The harshest suspension came to starter Yordano Ventura, who received a seven-game suspension. That equates to missing just one start.
Fellow starter Edinson Volquez received a five-game suspension, which would equate to missing one start. Lorenzo Cain was suspended two games. After the brawl on Thursday, neither believed that they should be suspended.
I did not notice reliever Kelvin Herrera in the brawl, but he was suspended for two games. He already is appealing his five-game suspension from last weekend. I am a little surprised that Jarrod Dyson was not suspended. He was definitely throwing punches in the melee.
For the White Sox, starters Chris Sale and Jeff Samardzija both received five-game suspensions. Catcher Tyler Flowers was also fined.
