First night game of spring training

The KC Royals play their first night game of the Cactus League season tonight, as they travel to Peoria to take on the new look San Diego Padres.

Instead, Chris Young will start tonight’s game versus his former team, the Padres. The Padres will be starting Ian Kennedy.

Here is how the Royals will lineup tonight:

Alcides Escobar (SS), MikeĀ Moustakas (3B), Lorenzo Cain (CF), Eric Hosmer (1B), Kendrys Morales (DH), Alex Rios (RF), Ryan Jackson (2B), Erik Kratz (C), and Jarrod Dyson (LF).

On Saturday afternoon, Joe Blanton (who has not pitched since his last start on March 11th) will make the start against the White Sox and Brad Penny. So it will be a battle of reclamation projects.

About Jen Nevius

I first became a KC Royals fan way back in 1995 when I attended my first Wilmington Blue Rocks game. I fell in love with minor league baseball then and began following the Royals as former Blue Rocks clawed their way to the big leagues. 3+ years ago I started covering the Royals for Aerys Sports, but since the site has been shut down, I am going out on my own.
