In the night cap, Mexico improved to 2-0 in the CS with a 3-2 victory over host Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico dropped to 0-2 (as did Cuba).

With the game tied at 2-2, Mexico broke the tie in the bottom of the 7th inning. They scored the go ahead run on a bases loaded sac fly. It would have been the third out, but a fielding error on a sac bunt by the pitcher kept the inning alive.

Reymond Fuentes once again played centerfield for Puerto Rico. He went 0-for-4 with a fielding error.

Day 3 of the Caribbean Series continues today with a powerhouse matchup this afternoon between Venezuela and the Dominican Republic. Both teams are 1-0. Puerto Rico and Cuba meet at night.

About Jen Nevius

I first became a KC Royals fan way back in 1995 when I attended my first Wilmington Blue Rocks game. I fell in love with minor league baseball then and began following the Royals as former Blue Rocks clawed their way to the big leagues. 3+ years ago I started covering the Royals for Aerys Sports, but since the site has been shut down, I am going out on my own.
